Dwayne Johnson is an actor and a profession wrestler. He is famous with his ring name “The Rock”. Dwayne is currently preparing for his role in the film, Hercules: The Thracian Wars.” After leaving the professional wrestling some decade ago, Dwayne persuaded an acting career and since then he has played roles in Fast and Furious 6, The Mummy Returns and several others.

Dwayne is serious when it comes to keeping his body in shape. He will play the role of Hercules in his upcoming movie. For portraying such a legendary warrior Dwayne is working very hard to build up his body for the role. Dwayne has posted images of his toned up body on social media which reflects his tough workout.

In university, Dwayne weighted 280 pounds. His intense workout routines helped him get rid of 20 pounds which bring his weight down to 260 pounds. When he started his acting career he strived to get more of an athletic body. For this reason, he shed 35 pounds to bring down his weight ultimately to 225 pounds.

Dwayne is strict about his workouts. Even if he is not playing a role that requires him to look in top shape, he still doesn’t stray from his workout and diet routine.

How Dwayne Workout

Dwayne wears headphones while he is working out. This practice makes him do his workouts with focus and no distractions. He does his workouts with passion and his will to conquer the challenge like a warrior. His passion for his training makes him different from others.

Dwayne performs various exercises in his workout routine after warming up with jogging and doing rotations with dumbbells.

Dwayne performs different workouts on different days of the week for different body parts. He works out his shoulders on Monday, Back on Tuesday, Legs on Thursday, Arms on Friday and Chest on Saturday. He has appointed different workouts on Wednesday and takes a full day off on Sunday.

He injured his knee when he was in college so Dwayne doesn’t perform squats. Rather he performs various leg workouts like leg curls and lunges.

Dwayne follows a shifting workout that first focuses on more reps and switch to more weight at the end of the week. At the beginning days of his workout, he performs more reps with not very heavy weights then in the last days of his workout routine, he increases the weights while decreasing the reps.

He workouts extra hard for his shoulders, but he also takes out time for his triceps and biceps two times in a week. He rest very little when following his workout routine; 30 – 60 seconds.

In order to train like Dwayne, first make sure you can comfortably do 12 reps and after that switch the weights with heavier one. Dwayne does just the same, he increases weight when he completes 15 reps.

To develop a strong looking biceps like Dwayne, focus more on shifting between reps rather than using heavy weights. More reps increase the volume of biceps and improve the blood circulation.

Dwayne Johnson has several equipments in his house like elliptical, treadmill and stair climber to keep him fit. He performs 45 minutes of cardio workouts daily.
